Overview
There is increasing focus on improving the environmental credentials for the cokemaking and ironmaking industry. As part of this part, the goal of the project is to examine the impact of different additives to the parent coals and examine the changes in the properties and performance of the resultant cokes.
Objectives
- Determining the properties of different cokes containing varying additive amounts and types.
- Determining the effect of ash chemistry and blend composition on the resultant coke properties and performance in terms of high-temperature and room-temperature properties.
- Determine the impact of these parameters on coke microtextural features and fractography after testing.
