Fenglin (Wendy) Zhuo Receives AINSE Postgraduate Research Award for PhD Research at CSIRO and ANSTO

Congrats to Wendy (Fenglin) Zhuo for receiving the AINSE Postgraduate Research Award (PGRA) for collaborating with ANSTO for her PhD research. Wendy is currently conducting the first year of her PhD in collaboration with the CSIRO and will be using high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy to investigate spectral overlaps between first-row transition metals and rare earth elements. Her AINSE PGRA will support her by providing her with access to ANSTO’s wide research infrastructure, including the Australian Synchrotron. The successful implementation of Wendy’s project will support the develop of technologies for the improve identification and extraction of rare earth element-containing ores, which has valuable implications for the Australian minerals industry.
