NEMCAT Group’s PhD student, Yueyue Luo, recently gained valuable insights and shared their research at the 2nd Sodium-Ion Technology Research Innovations and Key Enhancements (STRIKE) Symposium, hosted by Swansea University.
The event brought together leading researchers and industry experts from across the field to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in sodium-ion battery technology. For Yueyue, this marked a significant milestone as their first academic conference in Europe.
The symposium featured a range of informative presentations, providing a comprehensive overview of the sector. Yueyue noted, “It was a great experience, with a lot of informative and insightful presentations by researchers and scientists from both academia and industry. I learnt a lot from the presentations, including technical information about the cathodes and anodes of sodium-based batteries, as well as the market and challenges in commercialisation.”
A key highlight was the poster presentation session, where Yueyue had the opportunity to present their own research findings to peers and established scientists. The event also served as an excellent networking platform, allowing them to connect with fellow PhD candidates from other institutions, fostering potential future collaborations.
The experience provided a unique perspective on the global effort to advance sustainable energy storage solutions. Attending events like the STRIKE Symposium is vital for early-career researchers, offering exposure to cutting-edge ideas and strengthening the international research community.
Our group extends its thanks to Swansea University for organising a successful and stimulating event.
